Katie Sarsfield is a nurse practitioner who lives in Springfield, Illinois with her husband, 2 dogs and 3 cats. She graduated summa cum laude in communications / journalism in 2010, and magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bradley University in Peoria in 2013. She received her master’s degree in adult and geriatric nursing from Maryville University, St. Louis, in May 2017, and her post-master’s degree in psychiatric and mental health nursing in December 2019, both at the top of her class. She is board certified through the AANP in the adult and geriatric specialty and will sit for certification in psychiatry in early 2020. She has worked as a nurse practitioner for 2 ½ years in the Springfield community, and is excited to have the opportunity to work with RASSIK to provide both substance abuse and mental health care services. In her free time, Katie enjoys writing freelance and spending time with her husband and animals. She also teaches as adjunct faculty at Bradley University’s nursing program. She is a member of the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International.
